IR provided critical assistance to the US-China Symposium on Higher Education Research
Scholars and representatives from a dozen colleges and universities in the US and China participated in the US-China Symposium on Higher Education Research, which was held on October 1-2 at the Dana Center. With the critical support from IR staff members, the Symposium was a great success.

IR staff reviewed office strategic plan
On August 21, IR staff held an annual retreats to review the office strategic plan. The Plan was developed in October 2007 and has been reviewed and updated annually.

IR staff presented on national conference
This week, Institutional Research staff Sunday Griffith and Bin Ning made two presentations on the Annual AIR Forum, including a poster session on gender equity study and a research study on analyzing NSSE data.

Institutional Researchers at Northwest Ohio Gathered
The 2nd annual gathering for Institutional Researchers took place on Friday, April 24. IR staff members from UT, BGSU, and Owens CC shared best practices in the IR field and tips on major external reporting process.

Spring 2009 OAIRP Conference Held at UT
On March 27, The Ohio Association for Institutional Research and Planning (OAIRP) Spring 2009 conference was held at the Dana Conference Center on UT's Health Science Campus. Approximately 50 institutional researchers from around Ohio attended the Conference. Dr. Paolo DeMaria, Executive Vice Chancellor of OBOR, was the keynote speaker.

2009 NSSE launched
UT has launched its 2009 National Survey of Student Engagement to freshmen and senior students. The survey aims at gathering feedback on student engagement in academic areas and campus activities. Results from the survey will be published in the Voluntary System of Accountability.
